Model Checking of Real-Time Properties for Embedded Assembly Program Using Real-Time Temporal Logic RTCTL and Its Application to Real Microcontroller Software

Abstract: For embedded systems, verifying both real-time properties and logical validity are important. The embedded system is not only required to the accurate operation but also required to strictly real-time properties. To verify real-time properties is a key problem in model checking. In order to verify real-time properties of assembly program, we develop the simulator to propose the model checking method for verifying assembly programs. Simultaneously, we propose a timed Kripke structure and implement the simulator… Show more

“…W. Yajun [10] defined a timed Kripke structure and verified its real-time nature. A timed Kripke structure is a non-deterministic finite automaton but it is not appropriate for our study because its model does not hold the instruction element of the program.…”

“…However, no matter which language is selected, microcontroller‐based systems have different properties with a regular C programme. Existing works focused on several categories of properties such as runtime [36], real‐time [37], hardware‐specific [3‐5], memory preservation [38] and interrupt handler [39]. As our work focuses on hardware‐specific properties (i.e., cautions in hardware manual), the remaining of this section discusses the works which focus on the same target (i.e., other studies [3‐5]).…”
