“…The combination of the characteristics of the Botswana economy and the increasing value of mobile marketing trends (Mpofu & Maraga, 2023), the gain in traction of mobile banking (Sinkala, 2023) and a close similarity of trends with other sub-Saharan African countries such as South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia (Svotwa et al, 2023) provided a promising context for possible generalisation prospects.
