MiRNAs Which Target CD3 Subunits Could Be Potential Biomarkers for Cancers

Abstract: BackgroundT-cells play an important role in the immune response and are activated in response to the presentation of antigens bound to major histocompatibility complex (MHC) molecules participating with the T-cell receptor (TCR). T-cell receptor complexes also contain four CD3 (cluster of differentiation 3) subunits. The TCR-CD3 complex is vital for T-cell development and plays an important role in intervening cell recognition events. Since microRNAs (miRNAs) are highly stable in blood serum, some of which may… Show more

“…In scanning miRNA levels from blood cells these miRNAs were not, however, found to be present among the most over- or underexpressed miRNAs in CD3 or CD19 positive cells [60]. miR-23b or miR-144 are not either targets against CD3 gene complex [61]. The miRNAs studied here, however, are regulating the Nrf2/Keap1 axis in these cells, and in activated T or B cells their expression may change.…”

“…The result suggested that these mRNAs might act as biomarkers to improve the diagnostic accuracy of efficient evaluation for GLE treatment. Interestingly, CD3G can be used as suitable biomarkers to distinguishing cancer in the very early stages of its development 27 . GNAS mutation occurred in gastric cancer 28 , and GNAS-mutated carcinoma was arising from gastric foveolar metaplasia in the duodenum after 9 years of observation 29 .…”

“…CD3G has been widely reported to participate in antigen recognition associated biological processes, coupling antigen recognition to specific intracellular signal transduction pathways [ 101 , 102 ]. Encoding a specific protein that can be easily detected by liquid biopsy, CD3G has been confirmed to be differentially expressed, and may be a direct target of different functional microRNA targets different subtypes [ 103 ]. In breast cancer and colorectal cancer, this gene has been confirmed to be differentially expressed compared to normal controls, implying that CD3G can distinguish breast cancer and colorectal cancer samples from other tumor subtypes and normal controls [ 103 ].…”

In breast cancer and colorectal cancer, this gene has been confirmed to be differentially expressed compared to normal controls, implying that CD3G can distinguish breast cancer and colorectal cancer samples from other tumor subtypes and normal controls [ 103 ]. Considering that CD3G and its regulatory miRNAs have already been detected in peripheral blood, it may be reasonable to use CD3G as a potential biomarker for liquid biopsy, validating our prediction [ 103 ].…”
