“…Overweight and obesity during pregnancy are causally associated with fetal overnutrition, leading to increased birth weight and macrosomia [14,15] . Macrosomia may persist throughout childhood and be carried into reproductive age, transmitting obesogenic momentum across generations [16] . Breaking the transgenerational cycle, if confirmed as a causal connection, may be the key to curbing or reversing the inexorable upward obesity trend in both developed and developing countries.…”

“…In recent study, we found that traumatic injury (VD) was a critical precipitating factor associated with the development of POP and repeated traumatic injuries (parity of VDs) or more severe traumatic injuries (macrosomia with four-degree perineal laceration) have further exacerbated the severity and increased the risk of POP. 7,12 Study has shown that absolute risk (AR) of POP surgery was increased by 11.51 per 1000 women by once VD, and further increased by 4.40 for additional VD (twice), 9.07 for three times of VD and 11.43 per 1000 women by ≥4 times of VD, respectively, compared with nulliparous women. 13 Based on the study by Chan et al, 11 all women belonged to multiparty of VDs, further supporting that POP is directly and/or indirectly closely related to the parity of VDs.…”
