“…Spectral data, both wavenumber ( v ) and absorbance ( a ), were smoothed using Average-Based Spectral Filter (ABSF) with a data window of 3 and 20 cycles; later, self-scaling of data of absorbance was carried out and, finally, self-scaled data were used as in-put data for the deconvolution function permitting to obtain the corresponding FEDS spectra. Details of this procedure have been previously published [34] , [35] , [36] , [37] . In order to define one standard criterion to identify the occurrence of shifts, the following aspects were taken in considering: (i) small differences are usual in IR spectra, (ii) spectral resolution is defined by two consecutive wavenumbers, being in our case, Δ v = 1.93 cm −1 , and (iii) by FEDS a variability around Δ v cm −1 is unavoidably produced due to differentiation procedure.…”

“…32 The mid-infrared spectral characterization of fish scales: "Bocachico" (Prochilodus magdalenae) was performed by FEDS permitting the characterization of collagen and identification of hydroxyapatite. 33 In the study of binary mixture, FEDS was used for the solve the problem of the overlap of spectral signals in mixtures of triethylamine-acetone demonstrating its capability to extract signals from small fluctuations of line function of IR spectra. 34…”
