Mid- and long-term outcome of Salter’s, Pemberton’s and Dega’s osteotomy for treatment of developmental dysplasia of the hip: a systematic review and meta-analysis

Abstract: Introduction: Early diagnosis and early treatment have become the gold standard for management of developmental dysplasia of the hip. Surgery is required in case of failed initial treatment. Innominate pelvic osteotomy of Salter (SIO), Pemberton’s pericapsular osteotomy (PPO) and Dega’s acetabuloplasty (DA) are among the most used procedures. We performed a systematic review and meta-analysis of the past 57 years in order to assess the mid- and long-term outcome of these techniques. Methods: Studies met inclus… Show more

“…The radiological congruity as per Severin score reported with Salter, Pemberton and Dega osteotomy is 84%, 91.2% and 84% respectively. 15 For our series with Pembersal osteotomy, it was 87.5%. Thus, the Pembersal osteotomy appears to be at par or superior to above acetabular osteotomies in quantitative terms of restoring acetabular dysplasia and congruity.…”

“…Научные публикации свидетельствуют о высокой эффективности данных методик хирур-гического лечения в среднесрочном и отдаленном периодах наблюдения [21,22,23,24]. Вместе с тем исследования, посвященные сравнительному анализу изменения рентгеноанатомического состояния тазобедренного сустава после остеотомии таза по Salter и Pemberton, носят единичный характер, несмотря на их широкое повсеместное применение [25,26,27,28]. Так, B. Dello Russo и J.G.…”
