“…The main characteristics of absorption bands for GO include: O‐H stretching vibrations at 3426 cm −1 , stretching vibrations from C=O in carboxyl groups at 1720 cm −1 , skeletal vibrations from unoxidized graphitic domains at 1600 cm −1 , C‐OH stretching vibrations at 1220 cm −1 , and C‐O stretching vibrations at 1060 cm −1. GO‐xanthate spectra show a significant decrease in O‐H stretching vibrations at 3400 cm −1 indicating that the functional groups on GO surface participate and consume in reaction. Furthermore, the new peaks can be observed at 1045 and 1125 cm −1 that were related to the CS 2 group and asymmetric stretching of the C–O–C group, respectively.…”

“…Therefore, the development of a method that provides the initiation of acrylamide polymerization under the conditions of drying its aqueous solutions is an important applied problem. Although the kinetics and the mechanism of polyacrylamide synthesis have been thoroughly studied [ 16 , 17 ], the search for new methods of initiating the polymerization of acrylamide in mild conditions continues [ 18 , 19 , 20 ]. Earlier, we discovered the possibility of ring opening of cyclooctasulphur in the presence of 1,3-dimethylimidazolium dimethyl phosphate with the formation of phosphorylated linear sulphur oligomers ( Scheme 1 ) [ 21 ].…”

“…In the field of CPAM preparation, microwave can greatly increase the reaction rate, reduce the reaction time and make some hard and demanding reactions proceed swimmingly and favorably because of its high efficiency. [19,20] The potential value of microwave in the reaction of CPAM is highlighted. In addition, microwave has the effect of oscillation, diffusion and assembly, which can modify and control the polymerization.…”
