Microwave-Assisted Green Synthesis of Silver Nanoparticles Using Orange Peel Extract

Abstract: We present data for batch-to-batch variation of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) synthesized with orange peel extract. These samples were prepared in the CEM microwave for 15 min. The relative standard deviation (as a measure of precision) is provided and is, in most cases, less than 20%.

“…Broad absorbance peak may likely result from various capping agents coming from different natural compounds. 10,27,29,42,45 The proceeding reaction could be envisioned via color changes in the resulting colloidal solution. Phytochemicals bound to the surface of bio-SPIONs are rich in hydrophilic hydroxyl groups that allowed the NPs to disperse and distribute homogenously in aqueous media (Table S1).…”

“…Larger the surface area ensures an increased range of interaction with bio-organic material present on the viable cell surface. These synthesized nanomaterials are designed and engineered for incorporation into consumer products (Diaz, 2012;Kahrilas, 2014). The antimicrobial activities of synthesized nanoparticles for example CuO, ZnO, TiO2, SiO2 etc.…”

“…It has so many applications in antimicrobials, ie, silver compounds have been used to treat burns, wound infections [13].Various salts of silver and their derivatives are used as antimicrobial agents [14,15]. Also Ag nanoparticles show antibiotic activity, used in synthesising its composites for development of disinfecting filters and coating materials [16][17][18].…”
