Microbiota-Derived Propionate Modulates Megakaryopoiesis and Platelet Function

Abstract: Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is associated with an increased risk for cardiovascular events driven by abnormal platelet clotting effects. Platelets are produced by megakaryocytes, deriving from megakaryocyte erythrocyte progenitors (MEP) in the bone marrow.
