Methodology for ontology design and construction

Abstract: In this paper we present a methodology for ontology design and construction which incorporates the most outstanding design principles and a thorough evaluation process. An ontology provides logical formulation of complex problems of decision sciences like risk management, decision making under uncertainty, statistics and forecasting, negotiation and financial analysis. The main stages of this methodology are: requirements specification, formal design, construction, and evaluation. At each stage of the methodol… Show more

“…RustOnt has been evaluated to ensure the correct construction of its contents, definition, and implementation according to the requirements of the ontology and the competence issues that demonstrate the conformity between the actual model and the formal model [56]. In addition, we completed the evaluation of the competence and quality requirements that verify the correct behavior of the ontology with respect to the software environment, the documentation and reference framework created for its life cycle [63].…”

“…Taking as a reference the methodology reported in (Bravo, 2019) we designed the ontology model that is reported in this section. The process of designing an ontology begins by establishing the domain and competence of the ontology.…”
