The first report of bucephalids from Australia was by Nicoll (1915); however, well over half of the species have been first recorded since 2003 (Bott & Cribb, 2005a, b, c;Bott & Cribb, 2009;Hutson et al, 2007;Jones et al, 2003). The reporting of two additional genera in this paper and the recent acceleration of reporting of this family combine to suggest that the bucephalid fauna is still known very poorly in these waters.…”
