“…The nickel-based superalloy 718 was joined using a linear friction welding (LFW) technique, and it was reported that LFW yielded sound weld joints without the typical fusion welding defects such as voids, inclusions, and the liquation of low melting phases [ 15 ]. Anand et al have developed solid-state 800H weld joints using a rotary friction welding technique using different welding parameters [ 16 ].
