Abstract

<jats:p>The platinum(IV) complexes PtX<jats:sub>4</jats:sub>L<jats:sub>2</jats:sub> (X = Cl, Br; 2 X = oxalate; L = glyOEt, glyglyOEt, gly-cleuOEt; 2 L = metOEt) have been obtained by oxidative addition of halogenes to platinum(II) compounds PtX<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>L<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>. A high field shift of δ<jats:sup>15</jats:sup>N ( ∼ 50 ppm) is observed for the coordinated amino acid ligand of various platinum complexes, compared to the free ligand. Platinum(II) and platinum(IV) can be distinguished by their <jats:sup>195</jats:sup>Pt NMR signals.</jats:p>
