Metallization of Iron Powders by Autocatalytic Copper Plating Process

Abstract: The metalization of iron powders was studied by autocatalytic copper plating based on copper methane sulphonic acid and new activation process uses TiB 2 and chloroplatinic acid. The deposition of copper particles on iron powders was confirmed by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscope (SEM) studies. Diallyl thiourea and 2-mercapto benzotriazole were found as stabilizers in autocatalytic bath to obtain copper coatings on iron powders. The stabilization effects of thio compounds were screened b… Show more

“…On the other hand, the secondary metallization is conducted after primary metalized parts to increase the thickness of metallic layer up to 180 µm or above. There are many methods for the metallization of plastics as following [266,267] -Dipping in a metal paint -Sputtering -Vapour deposition technique -Electro plating -Electroless plating…”
