Garca-Fontana et al (2016) used LC coupled to HRMS to search for potential biomarkers of CVD (namely coronary heart disease, ischemic stroke, or ischemic peripheral artery disease) among males with T2DM and CVD, by comparing them with a population of T2DM males without CVD and another group of healthy males. The identification and quantification of candidate biomarkers was performed through an elemental formula estimation, based on accurate mass measurements in MS and MS/MS conditions, and then followed by online stepwise database search for confirmation of final candidates.…”
