Meta-analysis of Student Performance Assessment Using Fuzzy Logic

Abstract: The assessment system generally requires transparency and objectivity to assess student performance in terms of abstraction. Fuzzy logic method has been used as one of the best methods to reduce this uncertainty. Therefore, we have conducted a literature review to examine the application of fuzzy logic in assessing the performance of different students. The Preferred Reporting Items for the Systematics Review and Meta-Analysis Method (PRISMA) were used as the basic method for conducting systematic reviews and … Show more

“…As a result of the success of fuzzy logic application in the engineering field, it has attracted considerable attention from numerous fields and is widely applied to various fields including education. Amelia et al (2019) indicated there was an increasing pattern of interest among researchers towards the study on the application of fuzzy logic in the education evaluation system. They found that the fuzzy logic approach has become one of the best approaches to evaluate student performance due to its ability to reduce ambiguity in evaluation.…”

“…In terms of a fuzzy logic system, Amelia, Abdullah & Mulyadi (2019) reviewed that there is a wide range of applications of fuzzy logic in the education evaluation system. A total of 97.37% of the 38 reviewed articles believed that fuzzy logic methods could have a positive effect on the evaluation system.…”

“…Fuzzy logic proposes the basis for modeling, evaluating, and optimization of a task for various areas including teaching and learning [3]. Reference [4] mentions the fuzzy logic theory as one of the best methods in reducing uncertainty over the need for transparency and objectivity in student assessments. Fuzzy logic uses the fuzzy set as a classic set development.…”

“…Information technology (IT) has brought drastic changes in the field of education (Rohmah & Rachmawati, 2019). The application of IT innovation in the learning process has become an effective driving tool for improving learning outcomes and achieving educational goals as the function of IT in the field of education can be used various functions in the education system and processes from management and processes, such as recruitment of new students, curriculum development, conducting lectures, measuring student performance (Amelia et al, 2019) monitor and process student and teacher attendance data through the camera in real time in the form of image processing for example (Prasetyo, 2017), so that this makes it easier for managers to manage their academics data, the increasing role played by IT can be more positive. One example is equitable access to education throughout the world with these technologies.…”
