Abstract

Narrative medicine -outline of issues STRESZCZENIE Medycyna narracyjna, skupiając się na indywidualności pacjenta, stanowi odpowiedź na przedmiotowe traktowanie chorego sprowadzające go do sumy zjawisk bio-medycznych przy pomijaniu psycho-społecznego i kulturowego aspektu jego funkcjonowania. Praktykowanie narracji obejmuje słuchanie opowieści pacjenta obejmujących biograficzny, psychologiczny i społeczno-kulturowy kontekst choroby i radzenia sobie z nią, a także narrację prowadzoną przez profesjonalistów w oparciu o ich doświadczenia zawodowe w kontaktach z pacjentami. Medycyna narracyjna nie zastępuje tradycyjnej medycyny opartej na dowodach, lecz stanowi jej uzupełnienie, bowiem otwartość na humanistyczne aspekty choroby pomaga w uzyskaniu wielu informacji, które są istotne dla procesu terapeutycznego, a mogłyby zostać pominięte w przypadku postrzegania pacjenta wyłącznie w aspekcie zaburzeń bio-medycznych. Celem pracy było omówienie wybranych zagadnień związanych z praktykowaniem medycyny narracyjnej w pielęgniarstwie.Problemy Pielęgniarstwa 2015; 23 (3): 428-432 Słowa kluczowe: opieka ukierunkowana na pacjenta; opowiadania medyczne; narracja ABSTRACT Narrative medicine, by focusing on the patient's individuality, is a response to an objective treatment of the patient boiling them down to a sum of bio-medical phenomena, skipping over psycho-social and cultural aspect of their functioning. Practicing of narrative includes listening to the patients' stories including the biographical, psychological and socio-cultural context of their disease, coping with the disease as well as narratives conducted by professionals basing upon their professional experience in dealing with patients. Narrative medicine does not replace traditional medicine based upon evidence, but complements it, because openness to humanistic aspects of the disease helps get a lot of information is relevant in the therapeutic process, which might be omitted in the case of perceiving the patient only in terms of bio-medical disorders. Rozwój wiedzy i technologii medycznych spowodował koncentrowanie się na metodach ilościowych (pomiary, analiza wyników badań) i marginalizację potrzeb pacjenta wyrażanych w postaci narracji (danych jakoś-ciowych) -obiektywnie mierzalna choroba stała się nadrzędna wobec subiektywnych odczuć i opinii pacjenta [1,2].
