Medicinal Plants with neuroprotective effects

Abstract: Neuroprotection is the preservation of the structure and function of neurons from insults from cellular injuries caused by a variety of agents or neurodegenerative diseases. Medicinal plants possess neuroprotective effects via mechanisms that include inhibiting protein-based deposit accumulation, oxidative stress, and neuroinflammation, and correcting defects of neurotransmitters such as acetylcholine and dopamine [1-3]. The current review will highlight the neuroprotective effects of medicinal plants.
