“…Although this is a benign condition, recurrences have been described, although it is worth noting that our case was with a patient who was managed by aspiration of the cyst rather than excision 10. Conservative management could be considered for small asymptomatic lesions.…”

“…There have been three recognised patterns of histopathology including the most common urethral type (resembling epithelium of the male urethra), epidermis type (squamous epithelium) and mixed 2 10. Consequently, it was felt that the histopathological findings were related to the embryonic origin and median raphe cysts were a consequence of ‘tissue trapping’ during the fusion of the urethral folds or outgrowths of the epithelium after closure 11–13.…”

“…As stressed first, it is of note that the clinical course is potentially unalike between MRC and SBT. [2][3][4]6 Although there has been no metastasized paratesticular SBT in the published work, some previous cases of paratesticular serous papillary cystadenoma with a higher histological grade resulted in a fatal outcome. 7,8 Accordingly, further studies are warranted to draw a defi-nite conclusion for association of SBT-like MRC and cryptorchidism, and we are looking forward to receiving further opinions and critiques.…”

“…Moreover, immunoreactivity for ER was identified in hidroadenoma papilliferum [13]. In males, median raphe cysts, which occasionally show apocrine metaplasia on the luminal surface [14], share anatomical location and histological findings with apocrine cystadenoma [6]. In the present case, however, the cystic wall was supported by α-SMA/S-100 protein-positive basal myoepithelial cells, which differentiates median raphe cyst from a true apocrine tumor.…”
