Apolipoprotein B-100 after lipidation is dislocated from the ER lumen to the cytoplasmic surface of lipid droplets for proteasomal degradation. UBXD8 in lipid droplets and Derlin-1 in the ER membrane interact with each other and with ApoB and are engaged in the pre- and postdislocation steps, respectively.
Selective hydrogenation of fluorinated esters with pincer-type bifunctional catalysts RuHCl(CO)(dpa) 1a, trans-RuH2(CO)(dpa) 1b, and trans-RuCl2(CO)(dpa) 1c under mild conditions proceeds rapidly to give the corresponding fluorinated alcohols or hemiacetals in good to excellent yields. Under the optimized conditions, the hydrogenation of chiral (R)-2-fluoropropionate proceeds smoothly to give the corresponding chiral alcohol without any serious decrease of the ee value.
A novel quinolone, pinolinone (1); seven new phenylpropanoids, boropinols A (2), B (3), C (4), boropinals A (5), B (6), C (7), and boropinic acid (8); and a new lignan, boropinan (9), were isolated from the roots of Boronia pinnata, and their structures were elucidated by NMR and MS analyses. In a search for novel cancer chemopreventive agents (antitumor-promoters), we screened 10 compounds isolated from the plant for their inhibitory effects on Epstein-Barr virus early antigen (EBV-EA) activation induced by 12-O-tetradecanoylphorbol-13-acetate in Raji cells. Boropinic acid (8) and 4'-hydroxy-3'-prenylcinnamaldehyde were observed to significantly inhibit the EBV-EA activation.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
