Mechanochemical synthesis of 0D and 3D cesium lead mixed halide perovskites

Abstract: A simplified mechanochemical synthesis approach for Cs-containing mixed halide perovskite materials of lower and higher dimensionality (0D and 3D, respectively) is presented with stoichiometric control from their halide salts, CsX and PbX2 (X = Cl, Br, I).

“…As we have previously seen, this has been used to make brightly emissive quantum dots over the whole visible range (see Figure ) . Mixed‐halide bulk perovskites have also been investigated by MCS . Generally, it is found that Br‐I and Br‐Cl mixed compositions can be formed with any ratio of both halides.…”

“…[24][25][26][27][28][29] Indeed, solid-state NMR spectroscopy has proven to be a valuable tool to study cation dynamics [30][31][32][33][34][35] and the structure of bulk lead halide perovskites. 31,[36][37][38][39][40][41][42] To the best of our knowledge, solid-state NMR spectroscopy has only been applied to study lead halide perovskite QDs in a handful of cases. Piveteau et al 43 recorded DNP enhanced spectra of 133 Cs from perovskite CsPbBr3 QDs.…”

“…Most of the subsequent studies concentrated on 1 H, 2 H, 13 C, 14 N, 15 N nuclei to characterize and understand the dynamics and mobility of the organic cations (MA or FA) [22][23][24][25][26][27][43][44][45] . Only a few studies concerned 133 Cs NMR 29,31,[46][47][48][49][50][51] . As to the halides, NMR spectroscopy had thus far been hampered by their large quadrupolar constants, leading to massively broadened signals and distorted line shapes 52,53 .…”
