Mechanical properties of saccharine sorghum (Sorghum bicolor L. Moench) seeds

Abstract: Study of the mechanical characteristics of agricultural products is crucial to the development of equipment that can achieve the maximum efficiency without compromising the final product quality. Seeds crack and break when exposed to stresses that exceed their resistance to rupture. In this study, we aim to assess the mechanical properties of saccharine sorghum (Sorghum bicolor L. Moench) seeds at different moisture contents. The seeds were harvested in the municipality of Santa Helena-GO, Brazil and indicated… Show more

“…In the past few years, research on the physical and mechanical properties of grains had made great progress, such as corn, wheat, rice, sorghum, and so on (Han et al, 2021; Kaliniewicz et al, 2022; Moreira Ribeiro et al, 2019; Zhu et al, 2023). The research method was no longer limited to the analysis of the mechanical behavior of grains under different conditions by numerical simulation, model establishment, microstructure observation, and other processing methods (Barrer et al, 2019).…”
