Measured signal identification and temperature controller design for a HIPEC device

Abstract: Peritoneal Carcinomatosis (PC) is an abdominal cancer for which cytoreductive surgery followed by hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) proved to be a promising treatment. HIPEC requires the intraperitoneal spread of cytostatic solution at high temperatures (41-43˚C) accomplished within 60-120 minutes, during surgical interventions. This paper presents the heating system's identification, by using a graphical fitting method on a temperature measured signal, for a HIPEC device intended to be develop… Show more

“…The robust controller is compared with a PID controller designed using the Strejc design method (Clitan, 2015). A first order filter was added to the PID controller in order to have a feasible controller and the PID controller's transfer function is given in (20).…”

“…In order to obtain a transfer function model the Strejc identification method was applied, on the basis of the shape of the experimental data set. The method was explained in detail in a related work (Clitan, 2015). The identification method consists in approximating the heating system through a transfer function of the following form:…”

“…Table 4 records the comparison and evaluation results for the difference between the K HS of the proposed and existing methods. During evaluation [37][38][39][40], the K HS was observed to improve by more than two times. As shown in Figures 5, 6, and 8, the performance effectiveness of the system was evaluated through design, simulation results, manufacturing, and measurement.…”

“…The latest developments include a plastic tube heating element, a temperature control device, and a temperature sensor for instantaneous heating and temperature control [ 37 ]. To improve the precision of temperature control, efficiently controlling heat by comparing and judging a fitting result of mathematical modeling and a monitoring signal was developed.…”
