“…Chorioamnionitis and the presence of amniotic fluid during birth were moderately significantly associated with NS (►Table 1), in accordance with previous literature. 1 Preeclampsia as a factor protective against NS was contradictory to previously reported findings, 15 probably because mothers with preeclampsia frequently terminate their pregnancies before week 37 of gestation, and all preterm neonates should be admitted to the NICU according to the HUHMP NICU protocols.…”

“…The need for advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation is also associated with mortality and neurodevelo pmental impairment [10,11]. The early use of surfactant is beneficial for the recovery of a premature baby since it reduces the need for invasive ventilation and long-term complications such as bronchopulmonary dysplasia [12,13]; association of these factors was expected in our study population.…”

“…In relation to neonatal factors, higher survival is expected in women [6].The relationship between weight and mortality is known. The higher the weight of the neonate, the lower the mortality, the group of extrem e premature infants, under 1000 g, stands out as the one with the highest mortality, long hospital stay and large number of comorbidities [7].…”
