Massive spin 2 excitations in AdS6 × S2 warped spacetimes

We show that the first AdS 6 backgrounds in Type IIB supergravity known in the literature, namely those constructed via T-duality from the Brandhuber-Oz solution to massive IIA, fit within an extension of the global AdS 6 × S 2 solutions with 7-branes warped over a Riemann surface Σ, recently classified by D'Hoker, Gutperle and Uhlemann [1,2], that describes delocalised 5-branes and 7-branes. The solution constructed through Abelian T-duality provides an explicit example of a Riemann surface with the topology of an annulus, that includes D7/O7-branes. In turn, the solution generated through non-Abelian T-duality arises from the upper half-plane.

Spin-2 excitations in Gaiotto-Maldacena solutions

In this paper we study spin-2 excitations for a class of N = 2 supersymmetric solutions of type-IIA supergravity found by Gaiotto and Maldacena. The mass spectrum of these excitations can be derived by solving a second order partial differential equation. As specific examples of this class we consider the Abelian and non-Abelian T-dual versions of the AdS 5 × S 5 and we study the corresponding mass spectra. For the modes that do not "feel" the (non-)Abelian T-duality transformation we provide analytic formulas for the masses, while for the rest we were only able to derive the spectra numerically. The numerical values that correspond to large masses are compared with WKB approximate formulas. We also find a lower bound for the masses. Finally, we study the field theoretical implications of our results and propose dual spin-2 operators. a

Exact results for 5d SCFTs of long quiver type

Exact results are derived for 5d SCFTs with holographic duals in Type IIB supergravity. These theories have relevant deformations that flow to linear quiver gauge theories, with the number of nodes large in the large-N limits described by supergravity. Starting from a suitable formulation of the matrix models resulting from supersymmetric localization of the squashed S 5 partition functions, the saddle point equations are solved for generic quivers with N f = 2N at all interior nodes, which includes the T N theories, and for a sample of theories with N f = 2N nodes including theories with Chern-Simons terms. The resulting exact expressions for the free energies and conformal central charges are consistent with supergravity predictions and, where available, with previous numerical field theory analyses.
