For a general class of SO(4) symmetric backgrounds in type-II supergravity, we show that the action of non-Abelian T-duality can be described via consistent truncation to seven dimensional theories with seemingly massive modes. As such, any solution to these theories uplifts to both massive type IIA and IIB supergravities presenting an invertible map between the two. For supersymmetric backgrounds, we show that for spinors transforming under SO(4) non-Abelian T-duality breaks the original supersymmetry by half. We use these mappings to generate the non-Abelian T-duals of the maximally supersymmetric pp-wave, the Lin, Lunin, Maldacena geometries and spacetimes with Lifshitz symmetry. a gitsios@upatras.gr, b ylozano@uniovi.es, c ocolgain@gmail.com, d sfetsos@upatras.gr.
We analyze the renormalization group flow in a recently constructed class of
integrable sigma-models which interpolate between WZW current algebra models
and the non-Abelian T-duals of PCM for a simple group G. They are characterized
by the integer level k of the current algebra, a deformation parameter lambda
and they exhibit a remarkable invariance involving the inversion of lambda. We
compute the beta-function for lambda to leading order in 1/k. Based on
agreement with previous results for the exact beta-function of the non-Abelian
bosonized Thirring model and matching global symmetries, we state that our
integrable models are the resummed version (capturing all counterterms in
perturbation theory) of the non-Abelian bosonized Thirring model for a simple
group G. Finally, we present an analogous treatment in a simple example of a
closely related class of models interpolating between gauged WZW coset CFTs and
the non-Abelian T-duals of PCM for the coset G/H.Comment: 1+12 pages, Latex, v2: few minor changes, PLB versio
In this paper we find various new backgrounds in Type IIB, IIA and M-theory with an AdS 3 -factor. The solutions are smooth and preserve small amounts of SUSY. These new backgrounds are found by application of non-Abelian T-duality (sometimes combined with T-duality) on the supergravity solution dual to the Klebanov-Witten CFT compactified to two dimensions. The field theory aspects encoded by these backgrounds are studied. We give a detailed account of conserved charges, central charges, entanglement entropy and Wilson loops. Further, we present a possible field theory interpretation for our backgrounds.
We consider non-Abelian T-duality on N = 1 supergravity backgrounds possessing well understood field theory duals. For the case of D3-branes at the tip of the conifold, we dualise along an SU(2) isometry. The result is a type-IIA geometry whose lift to M-theory is of the type recently proposed by Bah et. al. as the dual to certain N = 1 SCFT quivers produced by M5-branes wrapping a Riemann surface. In the non-conformal cases we find smooth duals in massive IIA supergravity with a Romans mass naturally quantised. We initiate the interpretation of these geometries in the context of AdS/CFT correspondence. We show that the central charge and the entanglement entropy are left invariant by this dualisation. The backgrounds suggest a form of Seiberg duality in the dual field theories which also exhibit domain walls and confinement in the infrared. * gitsios@upatras.gr
