Algunos investigadores y diseñadores de hipertextos creen que las estructuras de información de los hipertextos deberían reflejar las estructuras de la memoria humana y que, al derivar empíricamente y cartografiar la estructura semántica de la información sobre el hipertexto, y al ilustrar explícitamente esa estructura en la interfaz hipertextual, se efectuarán mayores cambios en las estructuras de conocimiento de los usuarios (Jonassen, 1990, 1991b; Lambiotte et al., 1989; McAleese, 1990; McDonald, Paap y McDonald, 1990). Este capítulo presenta técnicas para averiguar la estructura del conocimiento de un experto y organizarla en un hipertexto. Después, se analizarán los resultados de una serie de estudios en curso que comprueban dichas ideas. Estos estudios muestran que el mero hecho de representar las estructuras de contenido en la interfaz no es suficiente para ayudar a los estudiantes a adquirir dicha estructura. Son la naturaleza de la tarea de procesamiento y los objetivos de aprendizaje al interactuar con un hipertexto los que en realidad determinan los efectos de su uso en las estructuras de conocimiento de los estudiantes.

Resumen: En este artículo se introduce un nuevo modo de medir el grado de importancia que tienen los conceptos a los que se hace referencia en la teoría de los Conceptos Nucleares. Esta nueva teoría utiliza las Redes Asociativas Pathfinder para establecer redes cognitivas de conceptos y en las que se observa y cuantifica la relación de cada uno de los conceptos con respecto al conjunto de todos los demás conceptos, siendo considerados, como conceptos nucleares, sólo aquellos conceptos que tienen tres o más enlaces. Ello permite discriminar cuáles son los conceptos fundamentales de entre todos los conceptos analizados. Como entrada para construir esta red se utiliza una matriz triangular que se utiliza también para crear estos nuevos índices que se llamarán Índice de Nuclearidad Completo e Índice de Nuclearidad Reducido.Palabras-clave: Índice de Nuclearidad; Redes Asociativas Pathfinder; Teoría de los "Conceptos Nucleares". Nuclearity Indexes (Full and Reduced), as a contribution to the Theory of Nuclear ConceptsAbstract: In this paper a new way of measuring the degree of importance of the concepts referred to in the theory of Nuclear Concepts are introduced. This new theory uses Pathfinder Associative Networks to establish cognitive networks of concepts that can be observed and quantified the relationship of each of the concepts with respect to the all other concepts; they are being considered as nuclear concepts, only those concepts that having three or more links. This allows to discriminate which are the fundamental concepts of all the concepts discussed. As input to build this network a triangular matrix will also be used to create these new index and they will call Full Nuclearity index and Reduced Nuclearity index.

This research adopted the method of network data analysis, chose 31 senior high school first-grade outstanding students as participants and 44 concepts about trigonometric function as materials, analyzed the organization of mathematics knowledge in good mathematical cognitive structure (GMCS) with the help of software Ucinet. The results indicated: (1) The connections between the concepts in GMCS were more extensive, especially those connections with higher tightness degree. (2) Most connections in GMCS were direct. (3) There were more abstract concepts as accumulation points connecting with others. (4) There were a number of concrete and frequently used concepts connecting with others directly. Therefore, the mathematics teachers should help students to construct extensive and direct connections between mathematics knowledge in their mind. These new findings expanded and deepened the current research about mathematical cognitive structure(MCS), pointed out the direction and target for educators helping their students form GMCS. Meanwhile, this research demonstrated the network data analysis method was feasible and valuable to analyze mathematics psychological issues.
