Abstract:In recent years, several reports have looked at the occupational health of doctors and dentists. Many of the health problems experienced by this group are also relevant to veterinary surgeons. In this article, Luke Walsh and Gudrun Ravetz discuss some of the recommendations set out in these reports and highlight their relevance for the veterinary profession. In particular, they consider the role of occupational health services in the management of mental ill health in veterinary surgeons.
