Management of Human Performance in the Context of Information Technology

Abstract

Information Technology (IT), leveraged by the current economic and social context, has, increasingly, a fundamental role within institutions, whether public or private. Organizational success is, therefore, directly and strategically related to IT's ability to deliver value, managing risks and resources and ensuring the necessary performance. While IT management and governance provide structures and processes to establish Information Technology's strategic alignment with the business, the most important foundation is based on people's relationships and performance. For this reason, it is essential that actions are defined and executed that aim to ensure an effective management of human performance, both individual and of the IT teams. The present work sought to carry out a literature review of the main concepts related to human performance management from the perspective of information technology governance and management. The result of this study will be used as a theoretical basis for proposing a framework aimed at implementing, improving and maintaining the performance management of IT teams and their participants.
