“…Although a malignant tumor arising in mullerianosis of the urinary bladder was still not described, one can suppose that such possibility can occur in analogy with malignization of endometriosis. A single case of endometrioid carcinoma in endometriosis of the urinary bladder [1] and four cases of clear cell carcinoma associated with endometriosis or mullerian cysts [5] were described till now. The carcinomatous epithelium in these cases was distinguishable by its malignant nuclear features, irregular gland architecture, and, at least, focal stromal desmoplastic reaction.…”

In this paper, we would like to describe an additional case, in which an unusual association with glandular cystitis of intestinal type was observed besides the typical clinicopathological features.…”

“…Only eight cases of tumor arising from foci of bladder endometriosis have been reported so far in the English literature [157][158][159][160][161][162][163][164]. It should be considered that although specific criteria have been established to define the development of a malignant tumor from endometriosis [165], not all the reports on this topic seemed to have strictly followed these criteria.…”

“…Infrequently, this occurs in the urinary tract, and virtually all types of endometrial‐type adenocarcinoma may, rarely, be seen. Such a diagnosis is based typically on evidence of concurrent readily identifiable endometriosis, absence of alternate primary tumour and morphology compatible with endometrial origin 27,28 …”
