So far, no particles with outer shells like those of Fijiviruses (Milne & Lovisolo, 1977) have been observed in preparations of RRSV, and the core particles with spikes seem to represent RRSV particles, although there is a possibility that the intact virion has an outer shell which is removed during purification or staining. Particles pelleted in MgCI2 solutions less concentrated than 0.1 M appeared to be almost the same as the untreated particles.…”

“…Treatment of particles with organic solvents removes the outer capsids of Fijivirus subgroup viruses but not those of viruses in the Phytoreovirus subgroup (Milne & Lovisolo, 1977;Omura et al, 1982). As was shown by Reddy & Macleod (1976) for WTV and by Nakata et al (1978) for RDV, the outer capsid of RGDV was removed by CsCI treatment at an appropriate pH.…”

De este modo, el trigo constituye un importante eslabón en la cadena epidemiológica de la enfermedad (Remes Lenicov et al, 1985;Teson et al, 1986;Ornaghi et al, 1993).…”
