Magnetized Dextrin: Eco-Friendly Effective Nanocatalyst for the Synthesis of Dihydropyrano[2,3-c]pyrazole Derivatives

Abstract: A new catalytic system consisting of Mn or Co nanoparticles supported on different materials (celite, zeolite, activated carbon, CeO2, ZnO, MgO, Nb2O5) have been studied for styrene epoxidation. The catalysts were easily prepared from commercially available starting materials. Reaction conditions were optimized by testing different solvents, reaction temperatures, oxidizing agents, and optimal catalyst loading. CoNPs/MgO and TBHP as a co-oxidant, in refluxing ACN, allowed total conversion to the epoxide with e… Show more

“…Magnetized dextrin 72 was obtained via the reaction of FeCl 3 -$6H 2 O, FeCl 2 $4H 2 O, dextrin 71, and NH 4 OH in H 2 O at 90 C under a nitrogen atmosphere (Scheme 32). 65 Maleki et al studied the catalytic activity of magnetized dextrin 29 for the synthesis of dihydropyrano[2,3-c]pyrazoles 29 through the reaction of hydrazine hydrate 28, ethyl acetoacetate 21, aromatic aldehydes 19, and malononitrile 14 under reux conditions in EtOH (Scheme 33). This catalyst was used for ve runs without a decrease in its catalytic activity.…”

“…One of the compounds that has long been known to humans is magnetite, Fe 3 O 4 , which is a common magnetic iron oxide with an inverted cubic spinel structure created by oxygen-iron bonding, where Fe (III) ions occupy both tetrahedral and octahedral sites. Fe 3 O 4 nanoparticles are one of the most widely used magnetic compounds owing to their various applications and remarkable properties [11][12][13][14] . Functionalization of the surface of iron oxide nanoparticles with biocompatible materials increases the properties of this material, including colloidal stability and reduction of cytotoxicity 15,16 .…”
