“…For hydrophobic drugs, the amplification of electrostatic interaction and inclusion complexation introduced by the chitosan layer and the βCyD layer can control the initial burst release followed by sustained release. [125] Supramolecular paramagnetic nanoparticles prepared from adamantane (Ad MNPs). The nanoparticles prepared by molecular association between Ad and CyD motifs for DOX delivery with provided magnetic field stimulus achieve the controlled drug delivery at tumor site.…”

“…164 Further chemical modifications of CDs and formulation studies are needed to exploit their applications in site specific controlled delivery of drugs through NPs which can be seen from the typical examples indicated in Table 5. [165][166][167][168][169][170][171][172][173] The CD allows NPs to be tuned for tailor-made needs of drug delivery and theranostics through the chemical modifications demonstrating the scope for the researchers from the chemical, biomedical and pharmaceutical field to focus on the utilization of CD in nanoparticulate drug delivery. Along with the issues discussed under this review it attracts our attention to the recent reports indicating the intervention of CD derivatives in the treatment of various diseases.…”

“…As a result, several studies have been directed towards constructing nanoparticles with different structures based on CS and CD to form new drug carriers. Zhou et al., reported Magnetic targeted nanoparticles double coated with β‐CD and CS using a layer‐by‐layer model. They investigated the potential of these nanoparticles for hydrophobic drug delivery using ibuprofen as a model drug.…”
