“…fermion behavior [4,5]. The heavy rare earth RCo x Ge 2 compounds with R = Tb and Dy do not order magnetically down to 1.5 K, while those with R = Gd, Ho and Er are antiferromagnetic with the Néel temperatures equal to 10, 8 and about 1.5 K, respectively [6].…”

“…The known YCo 6 Ge 6 -type GdCo 6 Ge 6 [14], CeGa 2 Al 2 -type GdCo 2 Ge 2 [8], Lu 2 Co 3 Si 5 -type Gd 2 Co 3 Ge 5 [8,13], Y 3 Co 4 Ge 13 -type Gd 3 Co 4 Ge 13 [13], CeNiSi 2 -type GdCo 0.4 Ge 2 [15], TiNiSi-type GdCoGe [8,13], Hf 3 Ni 2 Si 3 -type Gd 3 Co 2 Ge 3 [16], Sc 2 CoSi 2 -type Gd 2 CoGe 2 [17] and La 3 NiGe 2 -type Gd 3 CoGe 2 [18] ternary compounds were detected in the isothermal section at 1070 K ( Table 2). According to present X-ray refinement and microprobe analysis, the CeNiSi 2 -type phase has composition GdCo 0.44 Ge 2 and YCo 6 Ge 6 -type phase has Gd 0.8 Co 6 Ge 6 ones.…”

“…[14] Table II summarizes the magnetic data for several ErT x Ge 2 and ErT x Sn 2 compounds. All these phases order antiferromagnetically at low temperatures with the Er magnetic moments aligned along the a-axis, except for ErCo 0.4 Ge 2 that has the moments being oriented parallel to the z-axis [12]. Interestingly, the rare-earth moment direction is different in the corresponding compounds with R = Tb-Ho [1,13,14].…”
