Magnetic Field – Assisted Laser Ablation of Titanium Dioxide Nanoparticles in Water for Anti-Bacterial Applications

Abstract: Titanium oxide nanoparticles (TiO2) were produced by pulsed Nd:YAG laser ablation in water under the effect of an external magnetic field. Various techniques such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), energy Dispersive x-ray (EDX), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), UV-Vis spectroscopy, and Raman spectroscopy were used to characterize the TiO2 nanoparticles. The XRD analysis of titanium oxide nanoparticles revealed that the synthesized nanoparticles were polycrys… Show more

“…FTIR was measured on the functional groups present on the surface of Bi 2 O 3 NPs prepared from the laser ablation method were sections made by KBr pellet method (Bruker Equinox55, Germany) in the wavenumber scope of (400-4000)cm-1 on (FTLA 2000-100) version [17]. TEM (Philips EM 208S) was used to evaluate the morphology of the nanoparticles and size distribution [18]. AFM was used to determine the beneficial groups and position of each atom on a three-dimensional diagram of the surface topography of a substance at the atomic level (CSPM-AA3000) [19].…”

“…The crystallinity of the fabricated AgNP pellets was evaluated by using an X-ray diffractometer (JDX-3532) with radiation of 1.54187 nm wavelength and a power setting of 30 kV/ 30 mA [21]. The diffractogram was then analyzed using software Origin 6.1, to calculate the average crystalline size by following Beer-Lambert Law, i.e., A = εbc, where "A" is the absorbance, "ε" is the molar absorptivity of the nanostructures, "b" is the path length of light, and "c" is the concentration of the sample.…”
