ABSTRACTretrospectively. Perineural and vascular invasions were found in 27.0 and 23.6% of 8 cases, respectively, and both had a strong relationship with histopathological nodal 9 status (P = 0.005). The 5-year disease specific survival and overall survival rates of 10 patients with perineural invasion were significantly lower than those of patients without 11 perineural invasion (P < 0.001 and P = 0.002, respectively). The 5-year disease specific 12 survival of UICC stage I and II cases with perineural/vascular invasion was 13 significantly lower than those without (P < 0.001 and P = 0.008, respectively).14 Perineural/vascular invasions are risk factors for regional metastasis and poor prognosis.
