Luminescent properties of R+ doped Sr2MgSi2O7: Eu2+, Dy3+ (R+ = Li+, Ag+) phosphors

Abstract: Long afterglow phosphor Sr 2 MgSi 2 O 7 : Eu 2+ , Dy 3+ doped with R + (R + = Li + , Ag + , respectively) was synthesized by the high temperature solid-state reaction method. Crystal structure, morphological and luminescent properties were analyzed by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM), photoluminescence (PL), decay curves and thermoluminescence (TL) curves. The results indicate that the incorporation of these metal ions have no influence on the position of the emission peak which is d… Show more

“…Then, it is inferred that the formation of the Yb 2+ ions at the original Yb 3+ site promotes the generation of a defect with positive charges, i.e., V O ·· , to imbalance the negative charge inside the lattice, leading to the dramatic enhancement in the TL intensity. Similar analyses have been extensively reported in the YAG host ,, and other hosts. , Contrary to Yb 3+ , Ce 2+ with the electron configuration [Xe]4f 1 5d 1 is less stable because neither the 4f subshell nor the 5d subshell is half-filled or completely filled, hence making it difficult to reduce Ce 3+ into Ce 2+ . Without Yb as a stabilizer, charge neutrality inhibits mass generation of positive defects including the V O during the reducing heating, resulting in the insignificant increase in TL intensity of the reduced singly doped sample.…”

“…Previous studies have only focused on the contribution of HM sources to health risk. [28][29][30][31][32][33][34][35] However, exposure of both ecosystem and human beings to HMs can be harmful, 36,37 and thus evaluation of the contributions of different HM sources to ecological and human health risks is important but has rarely been explored in previous studies.…”
