Luminescence spectra of nitrogen in solid argon. II. Theory

Abstract: A theoretical investigation of the X-ra,y stimulated spectra of N,/Ar has been made. The fine structure of the NJAr sideband is identified as the combined result of host-lattice vibrations, a n impurity induced local mode, and multiphonon processes. The width of the peaks is attributed to hindered rotations of the trapped molecule.
