This paper illustrates a land consumption map for Italy (year 2017) at a scale 1:1,300,000, and the assessment of its changes (2012-2017). We define land consumption as the replacement of a non-artificial land cover to an artificial land cover, both permanent and no-permanent. The maps are a 10 m spatial resolution raster, produced by photointerpretation of very high resolution images and semiautomatic classification of high resolution remote sensing images. An overall accuracy of 97.7% for the map of 2012 and of 99.66% for the map of 2017 was obtained. The results suggest that the method proposed is appropriate to detect land consumption, both for the urban densification and for the sprawling phenomena, from national to local level. Furthermore, because of the high spatial resolution and the classification scheme adopted, it is suitable for an effective monitoring system, compared to other existing classification systems or monitoring programs.
No significant improvement in family satisfaction of critically ill adult patients could be found after implementing the VALUE strategy. Whether these results are due to insufficient training of the new strategy or a missing effect of the strategy in our socio-economic environment remains to be shown.
The induced fundamental infrared band of nitrogen dissolved in solid argon was studied over the temperature range 55–81 K with a path length of 40 cm and molar N2 concentrations of 1−2%. The spectrum consists of combination tones of lattice transitions with the N2 1 ← 0 vibrational transition. Lattice transition frequencies of 70 and 39 cm−1 at 55 K are identified with a local mode and vibrations of the host-lattice atoms respectively. We have computed the local-mode frequency over the experimental temperature range using one-defect theory in a harmonic approximation employing temperature-corrected experimental phonon frequencies and obtain good agreement with the observed values. The 39 cm−1 peak can be identified with features of the transverse region of the Ar phonon density of states.
The Raman and luminescence spectra of 0, have been studied in the 0,-Ar system. A simple model is used for associating the unexplained 417.6 cm-l Raman spectrum peak for 2% 0, in solid Ar a t 77 K, with 0,-0, pair vibrations. For the luminescence spectrum of 0.01% 0, in Ar a t 4.2 K a Greens function approach is used to describe the position and extent of the experimentally observed side band. In the one defect approach it was found that the Flu projections have a band edge resonance for an 0, in solid Ar. However the consideration of the same projections due to a n 0,-0, first nearest neighbour pair in solid
A method is presented for calculating the shift of a n impurity spectrum in the rare-gas solids Ar, Kr, and Xe. The intermolecular potentials are approximated by Lennard-Jones potentials for this purpose, the parameters of which are obtained from specially chosen combination rules. An expression for the lineshift in terms of these parameters, the host geometry, and the polarizability of the species is derived. If certain variables in this expression are appropriately grouped together there exists a linear relationship which is graphically demonstrated for various examples. It is shown that the consideration cannot be extended to neon as a host matrix.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
