“…First, hydrothermal synthesis of NaYF 4 :Yb,Er,Gd UCNPs was performed with the amphiphilic surfactant cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB). Then, the surfaces of the NaYF 4 :Yb,Er,Gd UCNPs were modified with poly(acrylic acid) (PAA) 17,18 , and the gold NPs coated on the UCNPs were prepared by introducing a reductant to the UCNPs and conjugating Ab 1 . When AFP was added, the binding affinity between AFP and Ab 1 resulted in a reduced distance between the gold NPs coated UCNPs, and the luminescence intensity of the UCNPs increased as the AFP concentration increased, which was attributed to SPR occurring.…”
