<title>Short pulse C-band Doppler scatterometer</title>

Abstract: In this paper C-band (~5.75GHz), dual polarization, Doppler scatterometer is developed, for short distance remote sensing of water surface microwave reflective and spectrum characteristics simultaneous and coincident measurements, under laboratory-control conditions. Developed system will be set on a mobile bogie moving on the height of 6.5m along a stationary platform of 32m of length. It will allow carry out polarimetric (vv, vh, hh, hv), simultaneous and coincident microwave active measurements of pool wate… Show more

“…In comparison with earlier developed single-frequency, combined scatterometer-radiometer systems of S (~3GHz), C (~5.6GHz), K u (~15GHz), K (~20GHz) and Ka (~37GHz) band of frequencies [4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11][12], the described system has two transmitting and four receiving channels, which allow simultaneously receipt co-and cross polarized components of the backscattered signals at 5.6GHz and 13.6GHz and the signals of the observed surface proper radiothermal emissions at 5.6GHz and 13.6GHhz, at vertical and horizontal polarizations.…”

“…Described scatterometer-radiometer system was developed on the basis of earlier developed C-band Doppler scatterometer system [17,18], which was developed, manufactured and assembled in Armenia by ECOSERV Remote Observation Centre Co. Ltd., under the framework of the Project ARG2-5041-YE-04 of the US Civilian Research and Development Foundation (CRDF FSMP). Authors express their gratitude to both foundations ISTC and CRDF and the Company HYTECH Digital Design Incorporation for their financial support of the planned works fulfillment.…”
