The NFκB Expression on Apical Dental Granuloma: An Immunohistochemistry Analysis

Abstract: Background: Endodontic treatment on dental caries with dental granuloma on the periapical has the potential to flare. The symptoms of acute flare in dental granuloma are strongly related to the activation of macrophages that produce pro-inflammatory cytokine through nuclear factor kappa B (NFκB). However, the role of NFκB in dental granuloma has not been widely explained. Purpose: To compare NFκB expression in dental granuloma and dental nongranuloma in the periapical of dental caries. Methods: The periapical … Show more

“…Histopatológicamente, la lesión granulomatosa es compatible con reportes que indican la presencia de células mononucleares de tipo linfocitico, células plasmáticas, así como macrófagos, de manera abundante (12). Estos hallazgos fueron encontrados en el análisis histológico del caso y coinciden clínicamente con la condición infecciosa e inflamatoria presente en las lesiones descritas.…”

“…5 During the first 6 to 24 hours, neutrophils dominate the inflammatory infiltrate, replaced by macrophages in the next 24 to 48 hours. 6 In rabbits, researchers have different opinions concerning the neutrophil life cycle over a period of 3 to 5 days. 7 L. plantarumis gram-positive and facultative anaerobic bacteria have the ability to survive at a low pH.…”
