“…A similar solvent extraction procedure with dichloromethane/diethyl ether (70:30) was used to determine LSD in 50 mg samples of hair [ 89 ]. LSD was extracted from blotter doses and from 50 mg hair samples in an ultrasonic bath with dimethylformamide and from plasma and urine with 1-chlorobutane before dilution in a solution containing the polarographic electrolyte tetrabutylammonium perchlorate and determination with anodic stripping voltammetry [ 90 ].…”

“…Furthermore, two studies have reported the analysis of LSD in pubic hair by LC-MS. Cheze et al [32] detected LSD at a concentration of 26 pg/mg in pubic hair from a LSD abuser who ingested 15 blotters a week. More recently, a fatal case related to LSD intoxication was reported and the LSD concentration in pubic hair was 0.66 pg/mg [20]. These results from pubic hair should be interpreted with caution, because repetitive exposure to urine may lead to the incorporation of considerable amounts of the drugs into pubic hair.…”

“…Two studies have reported LSD detection in hair samples from self-reported LSD users by GC-MS and HPLC with fluorescence detection [18,19]. In addition, Gaulier et al [20] detected LSD in pubic hair from an LSD-related postmortem case using liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS). More recently, an LC-MS/MS method was developed and validated for the analysis of hallucinogens including LSD, iso-LSD, nor-LSD, and O-H-LSD in hair [17].…”

“…About 50 mg of decontaminated hair samples were analyzed with LC-ESI-MS/MS, following a liquid-liquid extraction (LLE) with dichloromethane/ether. An LOD of 0.5 pg/mg was achieved using a QqQ mass spectrometer in SRM acquisition mode [36]. Similarly, Chapuis-Hugon et al detected LSD from hair samples with an LC-ESI-MS/MS procedure.…”
