Low-Toxicity Photopolymer for Reflection Holography

Abstract: A novel composition for a low-toxicity, water-soluble, holographic photopolymer capable of recording bright reflection gratings with diffraction efficiency of up to 50% is reported. The unique combination of two chemical components, namely, a chain transfer agent and a free radical scavenger, is reported to enhance the holographic recording ability of a diacetone acrylamide (DA)-based photopolymer in reflection mode by 3-fold. Characterization of the dependence of diffraction efficiency of the reflection grati… Show more

“…Photopolymer-based volumetric holograms are analogous to silver-halide chemistry, but it requires strict control over the photopolymer properties and stabilization of the interference patterns. 11 Photoresist-based surface holograms are limited in personalization due to the high cost of preparing the master hologram. 12 Master surface holograms can be created to emboss rainbow surface holograms; however, volumetric holograms cannot be replicated by this method.…”

“…Кроме того, оказалось, что глицерин повышает ста-бильность композиций и улучшает оптическое качество голограмм [38]. Регистрирующие среды этого типа обес-печивают получение отражательных голограмм с ДЭ, достигающей 50% [39].…”

“…Beyond the specific material characteristics, discussed in Section 2.1.1, there are additional requirements for the composition of novel biomedical material systems, such as biocompatibility and non-toxicity [53]. Investigations on cellular behavior on one-and two-dimensional surface topography may be used to evaluate cytotoxicity and cytocompatibility as a function of mechanical properties, such as the cross-linking degree.…”
