Low Releasing Mitomycin C Molecule Encapsulated with Chitosan Nanoparticles for Intravesical Installation

Abstract: The aim of this investigation is preparation of Mitomycin-C encapsulated with chitosan nanoparticles synthesis using ionic gelation technique for intravesical controlled drug delivery systems. This study was conducted in vitro. Cumulative amount of drug released from the nanoparticles was calculated. Mitomycin-C release studies were examined for different pH values. During the drug loading and release studies, initial amount of drug was changed (i.e., 0.5, 1.25 and 2.5 mg) to get different release profiles and… Show more

“…The peak at 1631.26 cm −1 focused on the stretching and vibration between the N-H or O-H group and sugar ring and in the synthesis of ITZ-CDF/CH NPs. It was revealed from the FT-IR spectra that the sugar ring of chitosan contains bonds that may be responsible for encapsulating the drug [ 45 ].…”

“…Further results presented that the peaks at 3352, 2891 and 1100 cm −1 might determine the stretching vibrations of -OH groups, C-H stretching, and the cellulose network structure, respectively [ 3 ]. In the anomeric region (950–700 cm −1 ), CF indicated a minor peak at 887 cm −1 , due to presence of the glycosidic –C 1 –O –C 4 deformation of the β-glycosidic bond [ 60 ]. This possibly indicated the efficient chemical treatments to isolate CF.…”

“…The FTIR findings of C-C NCs is indicated in Figure 2, showing contribution of OH or NH and changes in the sugar ring, Van der Waals forces, dipole moments and hydrogen bonds [26]. Furthermore, the CO stretching vibration at 1628 cm −1 could be owed to an appropriate interaction between the drug and its nano-carrier.…”
