Low Paraoxonase 1 Activity Predicts Mortality in Surgical Patients with Sepsis

Abstract: Introduction. State of severe oxidative stress is encountered in sepsis. Paraoxonase 1 (PON1) protects against oxidative stress but also undergoes inactivation upon that condition.
