Abstract: Aims/hypothesis Stearoyl-CoA desaturase 1 (SCD1) is the rate-limiting enzyme in monounsaturated fatty acid synthesis. It is imperative for the assembly of VLDL particles, which transport triacylglycerol (TG) from liver to adipose tissue and other sites.
