“…Agrawal et al (2017) evaluated the performance of a domestic refrigerator with R600a/R290 (50%/50%) versus R134a, obtaining an increase in the cooling capacity and minor energy consumption using R600a/R290. It must be considered that the evaluation of HCs do not use the compressor designed for HFC since HCs have a density approximately 55% lower than HFCs; therefore, a compressor with a higher displacement is required to avoid affecting its performance (Zhang et al 2019), and a special safety provision, so the system works with flammable refrigerants (Uddin et al 2019). Therefore, these operational aspects and characteristics of HCs promotes the continuous search for new mixtures of HCs.…”

“…36 Desirable characteristics of the next generation of refrigerants include: zero ODP, low GWP, short lifetime in the atmosphere, and high efficiency refrigerants that are also nontoxic, non-flammable, and environmentally friendly. 37 Currently, hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) are the refrigerant of choice in the United States. Many of the HFCs in use today have no ODP, are non-flammable, recyclable, and energy efficient, but they have high GWP 38 because they are potent greenhouse gases that survive in the atmosphere for many years.…”

“…With the increasing power demand, greenhouse gas emission has increased tremendously and nature is going to state beyond recovery [1][2][3][4][5][6][7] . To reduce greenhouse gas researchers around the world are working on various renewable and sustainable energy technologies 6,8) like solar photovoltaics 9,10) , solar thermal collectors 11) , wind energy systems 12) , carbon dioxide-free energy systems 13) , and hydrogen energy systems such as fuel cells 14,15) and nuclear fusion reactors 16,17) , etc. The above-mentioned systems could mitigate the energy crisis and can help to build a sustainable energy system.…”
