Advancement of technology brought along many prostheses design and developments. The main purpose of prostheses are to improve the life standard of people with limb loss. There are many types of prostheses that were developed in recent years. Prostheses can compensate many limb losses, upper body prostheses can be for not only finger losses but also full arm losses. Finger losses are the most common limb losses. Finger prostheses are imitating the functionality of human fingers. However most of the finger prostheses are only for cosmetic purposes and non-functional. On the other hand, the most of the functional prostheses are not perfectly fit to the users and are not designed personalised. Another big problem, some prostheses need a surgical operation to apply. The main purpose of this study is to design a finger prosthesis that is a perfect fit to user (personalised), easy to apply (does not required surgical operation), accessible (easy to manufacture) and sustainable. In this study, finger prosthesis was modelled based on human hand skeleton structure from computerized tomography (CT) images. Index finger distal and middle phalanges bones were removed from the hand model to simulate finger losses. Finger prosthesis was created on the modelled skeleton structure. Hand skeleton model and newly designed prosthesis were assembled by using CAD software. The designed prosthesis movement capability was examined, parts size and connections were optimised. Gripping ability of the designed prosthesis were analysed by kinematic analyses and a new mathematic model was developed. Created mathematic model can be use at other user’s prosthesis, in this way analyses are not required for new designs, user parameters and measurements are enough to future designs manufacturs. Joint rotation rates were set to grip 40 mm diameter cylinder. The gripping ability of the newly designed finger prosthesis was analysed. Mechanical structure and movement abilities of the prosthesis were confirmed by experiments and measurements. Gripping tests are show that, designed and optimised prosthesis capable to grip perfectly 38-42 mm diameter cylinder. Smaller object also can be moved using prosthesis finger tips.

With the advancement of technology, many prosthesis were developed to improve the life standard of a person who lost one or more limb. One of the most common limb loss is finger lose. Many finger prosthesis were developed to imitate the functionality of natural human fingers. But most of them are not personalised (does not fit perfectly to the user) and/or not easy to apply. Some finger prosthesis needs surgical operation to apply. The aim of this study is to design and manufacture accessible and sustainable finger prosthesis that is easy to apply and personalised. In this study, hand skeleton structure was modelled from computerized tomography images. Distal and middle phalanx bones were removed to show finger loss. Personalised finger prosthesis that fits perfectly to the user was designed on the hand skeleton structure. By using kinematic analysis, finger prosthesis movement capabilities are determined and general mathematic model was developed to be used in other patients. Before production, newly designed finger prosthesis movement was analysed and model was optimised with the result of the analysis. Finally, the gripping ability of the prosthesis that was produced and its similarity to the natural finger mechanical structure were confirmed by experiments and measurements.

In the post-New Crown epidemic era, people need to face a period of physical recovery after being infected with New Crown, especially when there are frequent cases of deaths due to over-aggressive or excessive physical exercise after healing, or due to people’s concerns about safety hazards, or loss of interest and adherence to fitness due to exercising alone, among other problems. In this paper, we design a complete interactive monitoring generation system for wrist brace components, Digital-Bracers, which consists of both hardware and software. The hardware has integrated textile heart rate monitoring and integrated sensors in a three-lead configuration for a textile-based digital wrist brace that conforms to human comfort. The software is a visualized app with pulse rate, speed, and frequency, oscillation rhythm, content generation social connectivity, etc. The software and hardware are connected via WI-FI or Bluetooth. Through exploration of materials, ergonomics, and textile wrist guard construction, we designed an experimental process and tested Digital-Bracers to determine the system’s performance through peak heart rate detection and noise interference. The contribution of the Digital-Bracers Interactive Monitoring and Generation System is the ability to monitor one’s own health in real-time during hand exercise to avoid potential risks, while at the same time, The Digital-Bracers Interactive Monitoring System contributes to the real-time monitoring of one’s health during hand movements to avoid potential risks, and to the generation of a variety of different sounds to bring a sense of fulfillment and enjoyment to the hand movements.
