Sustainable development has been given special attention worldwide regarding the environment and preservation of natural resources. However, sustainable community development remains a little-explored area, specifically concerning power-dominant economies and as an ethical representation of managing a country's law and order situations. Therefore, the current study aims to determine the influence of power disruptions, that is, human and governance factors, on sustainable community development directly and indirectly via an underlying mechanism of public sector performance. To achieve the study objectives, the study adopted a quantitative research methodology with a random sampling technique by surveying 720 citizens of Indonesia. A statistical data analysis using structural equation modeling in SmartPLS showed that power disruptions negatively impacted public sector performance, leading to underdeveloped communities. The results also showed that high levels of social connections between public sector employees and citizens mitigated the negative influence of power disruptions on public sector performance leading to the sustainable development of culture and community. The current study adds value to the government science literature by combining the critical issue of power disruptions and sustainable community development in a single consolidated framework that considers the ethics of governing a nation. The results will also help policymakers and project-executing agencies discourage power disruptions and find solutions to damages caused at the planning stages.

Critical infrastructures are complex operating environments that often require special protection and security. A successful security strategy design should adhere to the principles of durability, integrity, and regularity. In the European Union, there is a strong interest in the security of critical infrastructures, especially those with interdependence. Given the fact that critical infrastructures play an essential role in a country's economy, it makes them even more vulnerable. The main aim of this article is to analyze the critical infrastructures' cyber security policy. The creation of a security strategy requires identification of the needs for equipment, mode of operation, and required security level. It has to establish rules for precise operation and handling of situations. The article tackles the issues of security strategy for critical infrastructures to protect sensitive areas and sectors. In addition, a cybersecurity policy as a countermeasure is discussed.

Global warming is one of the hottest topics today, impacting every aspect of our life on Earth. Surprisingly, the effects of climate change on critical infrastructure protection have not been studied extensively. This paper i) examines three challenges raised by heatwaves: managing environmental risks; failure of partners and supply chains caused by extreme weather; operation during heatwaves, and ii) gives an overview of the responses of the European financial sector. By contributing to the growing research area of global warming, this study provides an opportunity to understand some of the climate risks better and offers some insights into the climate strategy of the European banking industry. Research data is drawn from two primary sources. Relevant literature was explored, and current supervisory recommendations were examined along with the results of the European financial sector's first climate risk stress test.
